Lethal Rhythms Review: COACHELLA 2011

The Atlanta DJs of Lethal Rhythms wish they could have made it to Coachella this past weekend, but unfortunately Indio, CA is just too far away!  Plus, we had plenty to keep us busy here in Atlanta!

For those who aren’t familiar, Coachella is a 3 day music festival put on every year in California.  This year the headliners and just a few of the other artists included…

Friday, April 15:

Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Interpol, Robyn, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Brandon Flowers, Sleigh Bells, Flogging Molly, Cee Lo Green

Saturay, April 16:

Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Mumford & Sons, Bright Eyes, The Kills, Scissor Sisters

Sunday, April 17:

Kanye West, The Strokes, Duran Duran, The National, Death from Above, Jimmy Eat World, Ratatat, Wiz Khalifa

The celebrities not only performed on the stages, but they were scattered throughout the audience as well!  This year the crowd was peppered with celebs such as Lindsay Lohan, Katy Perry, Usher, Kate Bosworth, Penn Badgley, and Diane Kruger with Joshua Jackson!

Hopefully Lethal Rhythms will be able to attend next year.  We know we would have a great time around all of that amazing live music!

Lethal Rhythms Review: New Remix of “S&M” by Rihanna featuring Britney Spears

Atlanta DJs Lethal Rhythms is loving the brand new remix of Rihanna’s S&M featuring Britney Spears!  It was released Monday, and we can’t get enough of it!  The original is definitely a hot song, but we are so excited that these two pop princesses collaborated for the remix!  It seems that every track Rihanna is on these days turns to gold, and everyone is buzzing about Britney Spears’ new album.  It makes sense that they would join forces!  The lyrics of the new remix are super sexy, maybe even a little scandalous, and it has a great beat.  Lethal Rhythms can’t wait to play this at parties or other high energy events!

Check out the audio clip below and let us know what you think of the new remix!!

Lethal Rhythms Review: The Avett Brothers at Turner Field 4/10/11

Although Atlanta DJs Lethal Rhythms got a lot of work done over the weekend, some of the team was able to make it to Turner Field on Sunday to catch the Braves vs. Phillies and enjoy The Avett Brothers concert after the game!  Unfortunately the Braves did not win, but fans’ spirits were boosted after the loss as The Avett Brothers put on an incredible show!  Being lifelong Braves fans themselves, the guys seemed truly honored and privileged to be performing at Turner Field.  They were absolutely amazing live!   Lethal Rhythms had a great time and can’t wait for another show!

Check out the short clip below!

Lethal Rhythms Review of Friday’s Featured Artist: ADELE

As you probably know, the Atlanta DJs of Lethal Rhythms love to follow the budding careers of new talented musicians and recording artists!  Recently we have been listening to a lot of 21, the latest album of the 22 year old London native, Adele.  Although Adele is not exactly brand new to the music scene (her debut album, 19 won 2 Grammys in 2008), we want to recognize her impressive accomplishments by featuring her in today’s post!  She is becoming more popular in the US as each day passes, and her sophomore album, 21 recently broke Madonna’s record of holding the number one spot on the UK album chart by a female artist for the longest amount of time! The album 21 beat Madonna’s 1990 album, The Immaculate Collection by keeping the number one position for a period of 10 weeks!  What an enormous accomplishment for such a young artist with only her second album!

In a time when much of the music on the radio is packed full of fun lyrics and auto-tune, it can be refreshing to hear someone with pure and raw emotion belting out a heartfelt love song about their broken heart.  Adele’s 21 is just that—refreshing.  She wrote the album when she was 21 about her experience of a recent failed relationship.  Her vulnerability along with her smooth voice and honest lyrics prove to be the perfect recipe for a truly beautiful and moving album.  Lethal Rhythms looks forward to what Adele will come out with next, and we wish her a long and prosperous career!

Lethal Rhythms Review: Popular Georgia Wedding Venues

Because the Atlanta DJs of Lethal Rhythms work hundreds of weddings every year, we have the privilege of traveling all over Georgia and experiencing the best of what many wedding venues have to offer!  Just a few of the most popular venues that we like to visit frequently are The Mansion at Forsyth Park, Montaluce Winery, and The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation.  We have contributed to many beautiful weddings at these locations and countless others!

The Mansion at Forsyth Park is a gorgeous Victorian mansion located in Savannah, Georgia’s Historic District.  It is an entirely luxurious venue, and the beautifully timeless atmosphere adds even more romance to a wedding day!

Montaluce Winery is an incredible winery in the mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia.  The mountain scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and similar to Lethal Rhythms, Montaluce prides itself in recognizing the importance of customizing every event to the taste of each client.  Events are supervised by their very own event coordinator to make certain everything goes according to plan.

The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation is a stunning hotel on Lake Oconee in Georgia.  This venue offers a combination of elegance and tranquil nature.  Many people decide to hold their weddings at this exquisite hotel—including Carrie Underwood in July of 2010!

Lethal Rhythms frequents these venues quite often for weddings, or other social events and would definitely recommend any of the three to a client trying to decide on a place to share their special moments!

Lethal Rhythms’ Interview with Annette Roxie and Chaviano Couture

Annette Roxie

One of the coolest aspects of my job, as a Lethal Rhythms Team Member, is having the opportunity to interview other vendors in the industry. This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing a very unique and chic vendor, Chaviano Couture and its designer Annette Roxie. Chaviano Couture is not your average bridal gown boutique; it’s much more. Chaviano creates an experience that personalizes your vision of the perfect gown and brings it to life. Each dress is custom designed and tailored to a specific bride. You will not find another dress like yours when choosing Chaviano Couture! Another amazing aspect of Chaviano is the designer herself. After interviewing Annette, Chaviano grew with meaning, it is no longer “another ordinary gown vendor,” it is the stepping-stone towards every brides fairytale wedding.

Let’s meet the designer Annette Roxie!

Annette Roxie Bio

Unlike anyone else, Lethal Rhythms is dedicated to creating moments that are centered on your personal Style, Taste, and Vision. Lethal Rhythms takes pride in getting to know individuals and sharing the story that connects them with their soul mate. As I was getting to know Annette, I asked her the infamous question of how her and her adoring husband, Jared, met. She simply replied:

“ It was my first year of college and I was walking along the campus, at Southern Everest University in Tennessee, when I randomly spotted a really cute guy. I had no idea who he was. A couple days later, I was sitting in class and met a girl who wanted to introduce me to her brother. Oddly enough, it was the cute boy on campus and his name is Jared. We have been together for 9 years!”

Everyone has been wondering what all the hype is behind the chosen name Chaviano Couture! Can you tell me how you decided upon such a creative name?

Mr. and Mrs. Chaviano

“Chaviano is my maiden name. I am the only child and growing up, I was always in love with my last name. I chose Chaviano to honor my parents family name and to keep my Cuban heritage alive.”

If you had to choose three adjectives that best describe Chaviano Couture, what would they be?

“Hmmm… I would have to say unique, because each dress is a custom sketch created by myself. My second word would have to be romantic because I am creating gowns that give my brides their immaculate moment on their wedding day. And last but not least, personalized because I hand make each gown to give our brides a more personalized look and feel to her gown.”

The one question that I found the most interesting was how Annette became involved in this industry, being that she went to school and became an RN.

“ Well, I was not able to find a wedding dress that was perfect for my wedding day, so I ended up creating my own. I fell in love with this concept and took it from there!”

What is the inspiration for your work?

“ Well as we know, I went to school to be an RN. So, I truly invest my time in this industry because it is a passion of mine. Most of my inspiration comes from my family and daily life. Each dress in my 2011 collection is named after one of my family members. I truly believe in personalizing everything in my company.”

What separates your style from other designers or what makes your design so unique?

“I created my collection to have a different style of dress. My dresses are all convertible. This means that you can have your dress long and then make it short with a simple touch! This allows for the bride to remain with one dress throughout her ceremony and reception, without the hassle of pinning it up. Pinning up your dress takes a chance in ruining the material as well. By having a dress that is convertible, your dress stays stunning and spotless.”

Britteny Leigh Gown- Chaviano Couture

Can you describe a specific moment or experience that has touched you while working with a bride?

“ I have been I the wedding industry since 2006, but I launched my company in 2009. So I have had many amazing memories with a variety of brides. I recently designed a dress for one bride that really touched me. Her mother was terminally diagnosed with cancer and wasn’t expected to live very long past a month or so. Her daughter was engaged and decided to get married sooner than later, so that her mother would have the honor of seeing her get married. She wanted me to design a custom gown for her and told me her wedding was the following weekend. As I was designing her dress, I could see her and her mother bonding. Her mother was laughing and smiling the entire time as she watched her daughter wear her gown. Knowing that I helped to create such a magical and loving moment for her and her mother to share together really touched my heart. It was by far a beautiful moment that will remain with me for many years to come.”

Can you explain the meaning behind “The Cause Behind Each Dress” and how you brought this aspect of charity into your company and where do you contribute to?

“ I absolutely love and adore dresses, but I feel there is more to it. Though I feel my dresses give a special meaning to brides, I wanted them to mean more to society. So I created a concept. Every time a bride purchases one of my gowns, a donation is given to a charity. I feel this brings more meaning to the dress knowing they are contributing to an amazing cause.”

The Cause Behind Each Dress- Chaviano Couture

“ My husband runs a non-profit organization for charities all around the world. Proceeds contribute to schools in Haiti and India to provide food and education about Agriculture for all citizens. I visited Bethlehem, Israel and fell in love with the city. I work with charities there and my proceeds provide food and medicine for everyone. In addition to Haiti, India, and Bethlehem, proceeds also contribute to Mozambique, Africa towards clean water. I love giving back and I feel this is an amazing way to do so! My heart is warmed knowing that every purchase is helping another in some way, big or small.”

Last, but not least, we would like to know why brides would choose to have a custom wedding dress designed for their wedding day?

Annette Sketch 1

“ More and more into society as a whole, everything has been geared towards being personalized. Everyone has their own, unique personalities and by having a custom designed dress, my brides incorporate their personal touch. Having a custom dress also allows you to feature sentimental pieces into the gown. I feel weddings have become a lot more family oriented and this is an awesome way to incorporate meaning into your gown.”

Lethal Rhythms takes pride in building friendships and finds this to be an important aspect of creating your own Style, Taste, and Vision. Thank you Annette for taking the time to share your inspiring and fascinating story with us! We appreciate the time and all the dedication you have put forth in creating enchanting moments for each bride, while giving back in the process! We know thousands of brides wishes will come true for their special day when they choose the Chaviano Couture experience!

We are honored to be a part of your team! We truly believe you have the dedication and loyalty to creating an awesome campaign for supporting a great cause. Thank you Kra, for not only being such an inspiration to us all, but for giving your heart, dedication, and faith into making a difference.

Team Authentikures 2011

Welcome to Kra Riddell’s Woman of the Year Homepage!

Kra Riddell- Leukemia and Lymphoma Society- Woman of the Year

Why am I a candidate?

I want to make a difference in the world, whether it directly affects one person that can pass their life change on to another, many people at once, or a domino effect of events that creates a better atmosphere for our society and community. Last November of 2010, I woke up one morning with a phenomenal feeling of inspiration. Honestly, while I was taking a shower, I wondered “what is my purpose,” “how can I make a difference in a society that has grown so distant from our neighbors?” This feeling of change and re-evolution, where people to care of people to better the world. I thought and thought, of how I, Kra Riddell a 21 year-old college graduate that works more than often could possibly have the power or influence to better my community, the nation, but the world. I began remembering a wonderful society, that my company, Lethal Rhythms sponsored June of 2010, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My mind began spinning, I would run for Woman of the Year 2011 and raise awareness of LLS, funds for research and treatments, and hopefully influence young woman in a time when jobs are scare and education is mere commonality to succeed. I thought this could be a global example of true passion and care for people that I have no connection or familiarity with.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Fortunately, I was nominated for a cause and asked to run as a candidate in December 2010. I was so honored that I still feel as if it is a dream that I am unprepared for. This chance of a lifetime to make a difference is such an honor. I understand what it is like to lose someone close, a family member, a friend, a supporter, but I have not experienced friends or family going through stages of Leukemia or Lymphoma. I was nominated for a cause and am dedicated to our future. I will learn more about blood cancer, from the potential causes to advanced research that is being used in remission today. I’m hoping to create vast awareness of the 10-week campaign period and promote good help and support nationally and globally. My personal goal is to raise $30,000 toward this cause, which 90% goes back to research and patient treatment. Though it may seem like such a small contribution, I hope it will be a start for others to take action, whether it is big or small because every action we take can make a difference tomorrow. How you can support me? I ask that you join me by making a contribution to my fundraising campaign. Each dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most donations is named the local Man or Woman of the Year. I am raising money in honor of The Boy and Girl of the year, Jordan and Christina, local children in the Atlanta, GA who are blood cancer survivors. I truly hope to help find cures for blood cancers.
