Lethal Rhythms Congratulates The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!!

Lethal Rhythms couldn’t be more excited about The Royal Wedding!  We want to congratulate the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, formerly known as Prince William and Catherine Middleton! We wish we could have been there in person; everything seemed so beautiful!

Kate Middleton, now The Duchess of Cambridge, arrived to Westminster Abbey this morning wearing a wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.  The dress was long-sleeved with an English and French Chantilly lace appliqué bodice, pleated skirt, and nine-foot train!  Lethal Rhythms thinks she looked absolutely stunning!

Toward the end of the service, Prince William and Catherine Middleton shared their personal prayer they had written for their wedding:

“God our Father, we thank you for our families, for the love that we share, and for the joy of our marriage.

In the busyness of each day keep our eyes fixed on what is real and important in life, and help us to be generous with our time and love and energy.

Strengthened by our union, help us to serve and comfort those who suffer.  We ask this in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.  Amen.”

Lethal Rhythms Review: Wedding Cake Trends of 2011

Friday, Lethal Rhythms posted several wedding trends so far in 2011, and today we’ll share some cake trends with you!  Lethal Rhythms had the pleasure of working 3 weddings over the weekend, and we must say– all of the cakes we tasted were delicious!

This year many cakes are elegant, yet simple.  Decoration is minimal with soft colors.  Instead of having loud and bright cakes, brides are opting for understated floral designs, often featuring roses or hydrangeas.

Another current trend in cakes is height!  Cakes have grown taller this year; couples are choosing stunning wedding cakes with lots of layers.  Even if the wedding is small with a short guest list, the cake can still keep its height!  Frosted and decorated fake cake layers can be placed between real ones for the appearance of a tall cake.

Also, buttercream frosting is making quite a comeback this year!  While fondant looks smooth and pristine, many brides are choosing delicious cakes iced with actual frosting!  Plus with an experienced and steady hand, a smooth look can definitely still be achieved with buttercream frosting.

Lethal Rhythms Review: Wedding Trends of 2011

Lethal Rhythms works hundreds of weddings every year, so we thought it would be a great idea to share some of the top wedding trends of 2011 with all of you!

Engagement Rings:

While classic solitaire or 3 stone rings in a princess or round cut will always be in style, many brides of 2011 have been opting for something a little different.  One of the trends in rings this year is the vintage engagement ring.  Whether actually vintage or vintage inspired, these rings have been a huge trend recently.

Another trend is the colored diamond engagement ring!  This year jewelers have noticed an increase in the demand for pink, chocolate, and champagne diamonds.

Of course another trend in rings is definitely from the influence of The Royal WeddingKate Middleton received a sapphire engagement ring from Prince William—the same ring Princess Diana wore in 1981.

Wedding Colors:

Instead of classic black, many weddings will be using grey as a neutral staple this year!  All different shades of grey have been spotted in weddings so far, from dove to dark charcoal.

Another popular color this year is blue, especially deep blues like navy.  Lethal Rhythms thinks The Royal Wedding seems to be influencing weddings in more ways than one!

Metallics are definitely a hot trend of 2011 as well. Some weddings have been rocking 3 metallic colors together or pairing just 1 with a couple of bright colors.

Wedding Dresses:

Similar to the trend in engagement rings, vintage and vintage inspired wedding dresses are extremely popular right now!  Dresses with cap sleeves, intricate details, and gorgeous textures like lace have been and will be seen on tons of brides this year.

Dresses in colors other than white are another huge trend of 2011.  Brides who want to look a little less than traditional have been choosing beautiful dresses in hues such as grey, pale pink, and even navy!

Ball gowns have made a come back in 2011.  Body skimming dresses will always be in fashion of course, but tons of designers have been playing with volume this year, and it’s been very popular with brides!

Lethal Rhythms Review: The Atlantan’s 5th Anniversary Party!

Last night some of the Lethal Rhythms team had the pleasure of attending The Atlantan’s 5th Anniversary Party!  It was held at 200 Peachtree (an amazing social event venue!)  It was absolutely beautiful.  While there were tasty foods catered by A Legendary Event and delicious cocktails to be had, the most exciting aspect of the evening was the great live music everyone was able to enjoy!

Christina Perri came on stage at 9:00 sharp, and blew everyone away with her gorgeous voice!  She is a fairly new artist; she made her debut when her song, “Jar of Hearts,” was featured on “So You Think You Can Dance” in June of 2010.  Her first album, “Lovestrong,” is scheduled to release on May 10, 2011!  Lethal Rhythms can’t wait to hear more of her music!

After a quick set-change James Blunt and his band performed!  They played a couple of songs from the new album, “Some Kind of Trouble,” and everyone seemed to love them.  Then they performed the well-known hit “You’re Beautiful,” and the crowd went wild!

Both Christina Perri and James Blunt were incredible live!  The event was completely lovely and so much fun.  Lethal Rhythms  is really looking forward to next year’s party!

Lethal Rhythms Review: COACHELLA 2011

The Atlanta DJs of Lethal Rhythms wish they could have made it to Coachella this past weekend, but unfortunately Indio, CA is just too far away!  Plus, we had plenty to keep us busy here in Atlanta!

For those who aren’t familiar, Coachella is a 3 day music festival put on every year in California.  This year the headliners and just a few of the other artists included…

Friday, April 15:

Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Interpol, Robyn, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Brandon Flowers, Sleigh Bells, Flogging Molly, Cee Lo Green

Saturay, April 16:

Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Mumford & Sons, Bright Eyes, The Kills, Scissor Sisters

Sunday, April 17:

Kanye West, The Strokes, Duran Duran, The National, Death from Above, Jimmy Eat World, Ratatat, Wiz Khalifa

The celebrities not only performed on the stages, but they were scattered throughout the audience as well!  This year the crowd was peppered with celebs such as Lindsay Lohan, Katy Perry, Usher, Kate Bosworth, Penn Badgley, and Diane Kruger with Joshua Jackson!

Hopefully Lethal Rhythms will be able to attend next year.  We know we would have a great time around all of that amazing live music!
